Write Your Novel this November at the Wilburton Inn Mansion in Manchester, Vermont

The Wilburton Inn is opening its doors to novelists, memoir writers, poets, journalists, and bloggers with special writing retreat rates for the month of November in celebration of National Novel Writing Month (http://nanowrimo.org) and the launch of their ‘Breakfast & Books’ literary discussion series.

“My aunt, Wendy Wasserstein, won the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for her play The Heidi Chronicles, yet it was her confessional essays in The New Yorker that have resonated with me the most following her premature death in 2006.” says innkeeper, Melissa Levis. “Our hope is to offer writers an inexpensive country vacation surrounded by quiet and inspiring mountain views so that they can concentrate and write their masterpiece.”

Writers pay only $65 a night to share a double room with another writer or $100 per night for a single. Breakfast is available for an additional $15 per day. Writers will have access to a full kitchen, wood burning fireplace, stunning views, and writing desks. There is a three-night minimum for this offer and writers must email their bio and links to their writing to qualify. Writers should call the inn for further details.

During the month of November, the Wilburton Inn in Vermont is also celebrating authors of non-fiction with the launch of their “Breakfast and Books” series.

On Saturday, November 22, from 8:00–11:00am, New York City author Gabrielle Selz shares personal stories of her relationship with her larger-than-life father who known as Mr. Modern Art and the subject of her new memoir, An Unstill Life. Like innkeeper Dr. Albert Levis, Mr. Selz was Greek and had a passion for art. Ms. Selz will share a short documentary film about the making of her book and then Dr. Levis will lead a tour of his modern art exhibits.

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by midnight on November 30.

According to the non-profit’s website, “Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought fleetingly about writing a novel.”

The Wilburton Inn is located at 257 Wilburton Drive in Manchester, Vermont. For more information and reservations, call 802.362.2500 or visit their website.
